Hybrid Mutual Funds are a mix of Equity mutual fund, debt mutual fund, and also other asset classes. Investors now days prefer balanced schemes (equity-oriented hybrid). You can choose a hybrid mutual fund as per your risk appetite and investment objective.
Types of Hybrid Mutual Fund
Hybrid Mutual Fund has differences as per their asset allocations and risk appetite. Some hybrid mutual funds have higher allocation is debt and some have higher in equity.
- Debt-oriented Balanced Funds– Like all other debt funds this Debt oriented balanced funds also invest 60% of its allocation or more in debt and other 40% 30% invest in equity also for maintaining the liquidity of the fund some part of the fund invests in cash or cash equivalents.
- Monthly Income Plans– This hybrid fund invests in debt instruments also have 15% to 20% exposure in equity. This gives higher returns from debt funds. Monthly Income Plans provide returns by the form of a dividend. You can choose it which can be annual, half-yearly, quarterly, or monthly. Monthly Income Plans also comes with growth options.
- Equity-Oriented Hybrid Funds– In an equity oriented fund fund-manager invests 65% of asset in equity and the rest in debt or money market instruments. Here fund companies buy equity shares from real-estate, health care, finance and also from FMCGs.
- Arbitrage Funds– Arbitrage Funds buy stocks at a lower price and sells it on higher price in another market and by doing this it tries to give you the highest return.
